What Does The Prime Minister Do?
The Prime Minister is elected by popular vote and serves by consent of the Prince of Hains. He or she serves for a year and has several responsibilities:
- Hires public servants who are not elected.
- Is The Commander in Chief of the Hains Defense forces.
- Represents The Principality in foreign matters.
- Has the right to veto legislation proposed by Congress.
What are the requirements for becoming a Prime Minister?
- Must be at least eight years old and able to read.
- Must be a citizen of The Principality of Hains.
- If under the age of eighteen, he or she must have the consent of a parent/guardian.
- Must complete the application for public service.
- Must campaign and participate as a candidate in the election.
Acting Prime Minister
His Royal Highness Prince Paul I is current acting Prime Minister. During the 2022 election, the people of Hains will elect a regular Prime Minister who will serve out a one year term. Begin the citizenship process today so you’ll be eligible to vote and/or run for office later this year.
